We have cultivated several acres of upland farmland dedicated to rice production, showcasing the potential of sustainable agriculture in rural communities. Unlike lowland paddies, upland rice is grown on well-drained soils, making it ideal for areas without a constant water supply.

This season, our demonstration farm is focused on improved seed varieties, proper spacing, and targeted fertilizer application to boost yields. The lush green fields stand as proof of the land’s productivity when combined with modern farming techniques. With adequate support, these acres can serve as a model for expanding upland rice farming and enhancing food security across Sierra Leone.
